What is your reason for becoming a teacher?
I chose to become a teacher, because I love meeting new people and helping them learn. Teaching is something I’m passionate about – it feels like a mission to me. I truly believe that learning languages opens many doors and I want to inspire my students to see that too and experience that same sense of opportunity and confidence when they speak.
What countries have you had students from?
I’ve had students from Israel, Albania, Finland, Portugal, France, Greece and Turkey.
What are the biggest challenges for your students?
The biggest challenge my students anticipate is that learning a language can be a difficult and slow process. It takes time, and most of my students have various commitments at home and at work, so they often struggle with motivation and finding enough time to study.
As teachers, we do our best to help them memorize vocabulary and understand grammar, but they also need to make an effort outside of class. Learning a language requires regular practice and commitment. The most important thing is for them to believe that they can do it. Once they understand how the language works, everything will become much easier, so they also have to trust the process.
What would you tell somebody who wants to learn Bulgarian?
I’d say Bulgarian isn’t easy, but it’s worth it. Learning it helps you connect with the culture, integrate better and feel like part of the society. Be patient and consistent – it’s challenging, but the rewards are amazing.
