– What is your reason for becoming a teacher?
I have always had a passion for languages – starting at a very young age by taking my first English lessons, proceeding with being accepted into a multi-language highschool and studying German. I discovered that languages are such a gift and just like precious stones I collected two more throughout my bachelor studies – Swedish and Danish. This language background really allows me to help others tackle challenges and overcome their fears. My main motivation is to show just how useful a new language could be, it is knowledge that nobody can take away from you and you never know just when it can open a new door for you.
– Which countries have you had students from?
As a new member of the team I have had only a few students-from South Africa, from the UK and from the Netherlands. I do appreciate our lessons very much and I am grateful that they trust me as their teacher.
– What are the biggest challenges for your students?
Bulgarian grammar is not the easiest thing – even bulgarians struggle sometimes. But I like to challenge my student through a lot of discussions, so that he can later on chat freely with his significant other and other relatives. We practise a lot and he is very dilligent and hard-working.
– What would you tell somebody who wants to learn Bulgarian?
Step out of your comfort zone and just do it! 🙂 If you are already considering it, the sooner you start, the better.
